It was a sunny holiday-Mothers Day had begun! The cake was set and the meal- at least I though it was.
I was romping and playing with my sibling and cousins and went to check inside for a snack-but what I saw made me sick and I lost track. and to my horror, there they stood:7 poor defensless lobsters. each waiting for horrid death, to take theyre last and final breath, the knife was waiting and the hand for 7 poor lobsters. I watched as the slaying begun, the first one picked was #1, the knife cut into its shell, it was still alive, I knew that well. it moved around trying to escape while piles of guts were placed on plates and that lobster did not die, not even when they cut off its eyes. Then #2 was taken from me, I could almost hear it scream, the poor little thing was still alive as knife cut deep into its spleen. I yelled " STOP IT! STOP IT PLEASE!" yet in vain the knife just kept coming, I couldnt take it, I felt their pain! so I started running. I ran outside and started to cry, staring at the pool, but looking at water made me think of all the lobsters like some trick too cruel. My grandma came out, the great executioner, wondering what was wrong. I showed my anger, let it all out, it was extremely strong. I had expected from her mabey a little comfort, but I blew my top when she said, "But its just a lobster!!!!" My aunt, my favorite animal loving person came in to talk to me, she was the person who I would trust in my time of need. I told her of the trauma I just went through, and she understood perfectly what I didnt like and knew. she calmed me down and told me there was nothing I could do, but that it wasnt just food, it was a lobster. she knew the animal had never had a life in the sea, that it was a distant fantasy, it never had a family, but I felt bad for it. That only made it worse, being brought up as food from birth, that was only what it was worth, it was very sad. So to all you animal lovers out there who think you're a winner, you'll never even get to a simmer till you've looked at your dinner! Its such a disgrace that only animals with a "face" are shown the respect they deserve to face because theyre cuter. all things have a life, even lobsters until the knife, this message I try to strive, dont forget it.
